The Hunting Party is the sixth studio album by the American rock band Linkin Park. The album was self-produced by it's members Mike Shinoda and Brad Delson and released on June 13, 2014 by Warner Bros. Production. It's name is a metaphor used to describe the band's wish to bring back the soul and energy of rock in wich they are described as the party that will hunt for that energy and soul. It is stated by Mike Shinoda that the inspiration for the album's name came from an article written by a Japanese writer, concerned of today's society and describing young men as "herbivours", grazing for an opportunity coming to them, rather than "hunt" for it themselves. It is also the first studio album to feature guest artists: Page Hamilton from the band "Helmet", Daron Malakian from the band "System of a Down", American rapper Rakim and Tom Morello from "Rage Against the Machine". The album features three singles; Guilty All the Same, Until It's Gone and Final Masquerade and two promotional singles:Wastelands and Rebellion.
